Re: Pbp: Finale (The Man Who Would Be King) - Descent 2e
"AS I WAS SAYING, OKALUK BLAST YOUR FRIEND TETHERYS IN THE FACE PLEASE"
Okaluk attacks, with Steel Defending:
Attack: 5 Damge + Blast
Steel burns both Stamina to take all three hits himself. Result:
5 vs 3 = 2 Damage, 5 vs 6 = 0 Damage, 5 vs 4 = 1 Damage.
Rerolling the Grey 1's from the first and third defence: +4 Defence to both attacks.
Final damage is Zero overall.
I play Dash on Zachareth, moving him to H6 where he attacks Tetherys.
5 Damage vs 1 Defence = 4 Damage. Blegh really needed a kill here.
And then moves to G7 to finish up.
The Master Golem declares a move action, shrinking to L6. He then interrupts to declare an attack action, expanding to K6/L7. At this stage he has not actually spent any movement points, but I've double checked and this is a legal move as FAQ'ed by FFG on this page.
9 Damage (2 from Surge) vs 4 Defence = 5 Damage. AHRG!
I play Frenzy on the Master Golem.
6 Damage vs 1 Defence = 5 Damage. Okaluk is Killed, I draw 1 card. FINALLY!
The Golem then continues moving, shrinking to K6. He then steps through to H5, expanding to G5/H6.
I play Dark Resilience, healing Zachareth for 4 points of health
A zombie spawns on M1. I've got no cards in my hand.

Not really, that second hit did like 4 more than needed... If you'd died on the first hit I'd have killed Teth too.

Virral, can you point me to where on that page you linked to that it says your move to move 1 square with the Golem is legal?
The only link I could see referred to a 2 x 3 monster changing orientation. Just seems a bit dodgy to me. It's also not FAQ or errata. It's a thread on BGG.

Yep, re-reading it again, the question is specifically about doing that to change the monster's orientation. A 2 x 2 monster doesn't have an orientation. It's a square. So I don't think that answer applies to the Golem.

Re: Pbp: Finale (The Man Who Would Be King) - Descent 2e
It's a question and answer thread where people post answers they have received from FFG. The question is from Graham Martin:
[q="Grahamers2002"]Rule Question:
May large monsters interrupt a move action with another action (e.g., open door, attack) after hey have shrunk to 1x1 but before they have spent a movement point so that they can expand in a direction different than their orientation before the move action?
See this post for description of proposed mechanic:

Re: Pbp: Finale (The Man Who Would Be King) - Descent 2e
If you feel strongly about it we don't have to play it that way, but In that case I would have used the dash card to move Zach as far in the other direction as I could, not towards the heroes.
Result will be one less damage to Teth, but stunned from the surge I would have rolled with it being a ranged blue/yellow/red attack. Zach would end up in A4 and the golem will be next to the Master Zombie still.

Sure, just like you can move between a wall and a monster on a diagonal

Yep, read the question. It talks about changing orientation. A 2x2 monster has no orientation. The link to the thread talking about the mechanic only refers to 3x2 monsters, not 2x2 monsters.Virral wrote:It's a question and answer thread where people post answers they have received from FFG. Happy for you to change your turn from that point to do something different.

Re: Pbp: Finale (The Man Who Would Be King) - Descent 2e
Like so:

To explain. The only change I've made is that Zachareth would have used Shadow Bolt (Blue, Yellow, Red) and then run away with Dash. It did one less damage, but includes a Surge which I used on "Subdue" to stun Tetherys. The rest of the turn is identical, no need to reroll any dice whatsoever.

What ability gives you the 4 health? Doesn't the Shadow Rune mean you deal +2 damage on a surge?Virral wrote:Whoops I forgot to add back the 4 health for Zachareth. I may have been running around the room screaming "yessssssssssss"
