I'm assuming Virral's internet has been fixed? I'm back at work now, partially infirm but ready and willing to roll internet dice.

No answer from FFG. I really can't see how you could argue that the heroes can open in but the Monsters cannot though...

It can be argued by the exact wording for the way the door opens... it literally cannot be taken any other way Virral. You may want to try to interpret it differently but the wording is extremely specific.

The door is specifically different for the monsters and the heroes.

Monster figures may move through the Hidden Entrance as if there weren't a door there, but cannot draw line of sight through the locked door.

So you cannot see through it and you don't have to open in in order to move through

However, Heroes treat the Hidden Entrance as a locked door for all purposes. Once a Hero finds the key, all heroes may treat the Hidden Entrance as a normal door.

Heroes treat it as a door for all purposes and therefore have to open it

It's extremely specific about the differences between heroes and monsters using the door... what is there to argue??

There is a fundemental difference between saying something doesn't "have" to do something and saying that something "cannot" do something. The whole "Hidden Entrance" thing is purely fluff text to explain away why Monsters don't have to open the door to pass through it.

The rules for opening doors is the same for Monsters and Heroes, and this is a door that can be opened. QED.

No its not. It SPECIFICALLY states that it is not a door for monsters Virral. You can't go past the rules that are actually stated. Your simply changing the rules as printed to your own ends and that's not fair in any way.

It doesnt specifically state that, it just says that monsters MAY ignore the door.

Honestly are you really trying to be a rules lawyer about this? Because its coming across as a real dick move. If the door didnt open then I would agree 100% but it does and claiming this specific rule doesnt specifically say that a monster can open that door despite general rules which do say they can open doors just fine is complete bull.

Oh come on... the ruling specifically says "Monster figures MAY MOVE THROUGH the Hidden Entrance as if there weren't a door there", not they may ignore the door... not in any way, shape or form. Now your trying to reword the ruling yet i'm the one doing the dick move... by following the way the rules are worded? The exact same thing you have complained numerous times we don't do? The door ONLY opens when the HEROES get the key and only the HEROES can actually open the door...

Its basically now gotten to the point that you are even willing to ignore the wording of the rules in order to get your way. Its ridiculous Virral and then you actually want to try to make it out like I'm being the dick? Are you serious?

Yes i am serious. You are being a dick about this.

Im just trying to have a bit of fun, ive been relaxed about giving you guys do overs and generally tried to avoid an atmosphere of power gaming or taking advantage of mistakes and now you are repaying that by trying to force this dodgy one sided interpretation of a poorly worded rule that was almost certainly never intended to give this outcome.

Seriously take a step back and ask yourself if its worth making such a big stink over a petty wording issue from a game that is rife with vaguely worded rules that have spawned hundreds of pages of fan made FAQs.
