Vic Masters 2019

Post by jrwilkinson »

So you think you're the best Blood Bowl coach in Victoria?

Well, now's your chance to prove it!

Introducing the Vic Masters 2019, a trophy awarded to the Blood Bowl coach with the best combined results at each of the qualifying tournaments.

Incorporating Goldcrush, Conquest, Mayhem and The Big V, coaches who take part in these tournaments will earn points depending on their results from each tournament. There will be a running ladder as the year goes, and by the end of the year we will declare the winner of the Vic Masters 2019.

+++ RULES & SCORING +++

To qualify for one of the Vic Masters awards, coaches must attend at least 2 of the tournaments that are participating in this years Vic Masters Series.

There will be no limitations on which team a coach is allowed to play, and ALL points earned by a coach will go towards his final score. The more tournaments you attend, the greater chance you have of winning!

Participating tournaments for 2019 are:

Goldcrush, Ballarat - Feb 24th
The Conquest Cup, Coburg - Apr 20th
Mayhem on Malop Street, TBC - Date TBC
The Big V 2019, Ringwood - Nov 23rd and 24th

AWARDS:

For 2019, there will be 4 awards up for grabs:

Vic Masters Champion
Vic Masters Stunty King*
Vic Masters Rising Star**
Vic Masters Pride of Victoria***

SCORING:

Points are awarded to each coach at each qualifying tournament as follows. A Vic Masters ladder will be created and updated after each qualifying event. The coach with the most points in each category at the end of 2019 will win!

Top 14 coaches in each qualifying tournament score...

15 pts (1st)
14 pts (2nd)
13 pts (3rd)
...
3 pts (13th)
2 pts (14th)

All other coaches score 1 pt.

BONUS POINTS:

1pt for every 5 teams that finished below the coach.

EXAMPLES:

Winner of a 12-team tournament will earn 17 pts (15 pts + 2 bonus pts)

Winner of a 30-team tournament will earn 20 pts (15 pts + 5 bonus pts)

* Stunty King will feature a separate ladder showing only results earned by coaches whilst playing Stunty Teams. Those coaches may therefore have a different points totals in the main ladder to the Stunty ladder

** To qualify for the Rising Star award, coaches must have played in no more than 4 NAF-accredited tournaments

*** A special award given out to the Victorian coach with the best performances in interstate tournaments.

Does one need to be a *VIC* to qualify? Or attendance at the tourneys would be sufficient?

I’m afraid you do need to be a VIC to qualify.

We are in discussions about opening up an award to the most successful interstate player, but nothing is confirmed.
