I'm taking Slann, Gnome Humans, Thomsy Chaos, Bill Necro all tier 2 just for the extra skills.

Heh, was just going to share my Fling roster with you :).

Built a few Ogre ones with variously Morg, Brick Farth & Grotti, or Bertha. Something to be said for just going 5 Ogres though :) (i like having a few rerolls to take advantage of no Loner).

Will be locking my team by end of MOAB I guess. Due 11 or 17th of Oct.

Thinking
day one: block, 2x break tackle, 2x dirt player snots
Day two: block, pile on
Day three: pile on a block ogre?

What do people's think? Also possibly trying to work in the bomber.

I really like Break Tackle on all non Block Ogres, backed up by Juggernaut on the second skill. Because you often run low on players and it makes every Ogre a hitter or Blitzer who can free themselves from TZs almost at whim :)

But ive seen Pile On work for others.

Dirty Player is a double for the Snots :( . Diving Tackle is best 20k bang for buck with built in side step :). Or Sneaky Git if going for fouling attrition.

For myself I had mixed results from my MOAB trial this weekend.

Went 4/0/1 (slept through game 1 :-[ ) but in every game I played teams that dont run grinding cages and also in every instance the Nerves of Steel of my 4x catchers proved invaluable with clearing the ball and getting away (even vs Redcard who beat me). So as a trial for High Elf roster I think I'll miss the NOS hugely and even Side Step to some degree. Additionally I didnt really feel the AV breaking a lot on 8 breaks, so the other benefit of the 'tougher' High Elves may not be felt.... hmmmm.

Either way roster is due 17th so I gotta make a choice on it all.

Yeah I took proElves to WeegieBowl and was ground down by 2x dark elves and 2x dwarfs. Lots of rolling eights and then eights and nines. 5-6 in the ko bin for those games!

I would agree. One of the Real (only? :P ) strengths of Ogres is that all the heavy weight lifters have not got Loner. You lose a lot of power if you dont take any rerolls.

Also I have found 5 Ogres enough to leave one as a sweeper whilst four go up the field together as the ball ' scrum' (not coordinated enough to call it a cage :P ). And this cannot be underestimated.

Bomber is obviously there as a bit of fun and possible spoiler vs bash teams, but I'd be tempted.to converted the 6th Ogre into 2x RRs instead for 5 Ogres and 3 RRs. :)

How's the painting coming? :)

Yeah I was thinking option two as well. However I was playing against an Ogre coach with the Bomber in league play a couple of times and he bombed the crap out of me. Setting up the Bomber just behind the LOS and lobbing bombs to open squares worked really well. Hoping for an early CAS. I'll have another think.

Painting shouldn't be a problem...getting someone else to do it for me. ;) Going Wallabies green and gold.
