Re: WC3 list
Looks solid gunnar. Similar to mine one I'm now contemplating except I took the 3rd RR over the Apoth.
And I took Juggernaut on the ROgre rather than wait til Day 2 for Block.
12 plus the Apoth does seem attractive tho.

Re: WC3 list
I figure I would prefer to wait for day 2 to get a more solid ROgre that can block as well as it blitzes.
I figured I would go with Apoth and FF instead of the re-roll as I took leader. Without leader I would have the extra re-roll.
I found 2 x RR and Leader effective at both ASC3 and Sandgroper.

Ok now that I am in the mix, I am thinking the following...
Frogs
4 Catchers (Guard #1, 2*Dodge #1 | Guard #2)
8 Linefrogs (2*Wrestle #1 | Wrestle #2 | 2*Wrestle #3)
Apoth
5 RR
Could get a strip ball dude for some variety, probably on day 2?
I'll use the apoth on first injured catcher or second injured linefrog.

Re: WC3 list
Hey Gumbi,
Sorry I missed this post mate.
I normally love the Blitzers though I understand how expensive they are.
I would take either 1x Strip Ball or Tackle as there will be a bit of Dodge/ Blodge floating about if only on the Skaven and Woodies.
Otherwise looks solid for the Catcher Blitz style play you seem to be aiming for. I know Smeborg has used similar to good effect.

Re: WC3 list
Team Goblin: because I really need another choice
Decisions are:
1. Whether to Block the Trolls or to Wrestle 1-2 Goblins.
2. Trade off Wrestle on 1 Goblin for Sure Hands to combat Strip Ball Skaven, Woodies, etc plus increase ball handling reliability at sacrifice of speed on Pogo.
3. Diving Tackle or Side Step on the line goblins.
Thoughts:
1. Bribes run out and 3/4 time the Goblins are left on their own with only the Trolls. The Goblins are not great sweepers and so the Loony fills this role until killed or sent off. Wrestle gives them a threat into cages as well against catcher types.
2. I normally lose to AG teams with Goblins due to being turned over inside the cage with no real way of stopping the Strip Ball. Counter point: Tackle Block does almost as good a job and the Sure Feet makes him quasi-MV9 which is great.
3. Diving Tackle when positioned well can cause fits for your opponent (yes even Dwarves and other Grindy types
) . Side Step allows for control of the field space even when getting hit and also greatly increases the ability to slip away from being locked up by defense after a Blitz when carrying the ball. Both work best when spammed so I feel it is better to focus on one or the other vs. a little bit of both.
Thoughts?
TEAM 1:
2x Troll (1x Block #1, 1x Block #2)
1x Ball and Chain (1x Mighty Blow #1)
1x Loony [Chainsaw]
1x Pogo (1x Sure Feet #1)
9x Goblin (2x DT/ SS #1, 1x DT/ SS #2, 2x DT/ SS #3)
4x Reroll
2x Bribes
TEAM 2:
2x Troll (2x Break Tackle #1)
1x Ball and Chain (1x Mighty Blow #1)
1x Loony [Chainsaw]
1x Pogo (1x Sure Hands #1)
9x Goblin (1x DT/ SS #1, 1x Wrestle #2, 1x DT/ SS #2, 2x DT/ SS #3)

Re: WC3 list
So I finally looked up the rules pack, my input for the last 2 lists
Frogs- Drop a reroll and turn a day 1 wrestler into a blitzer. The extra move and jump up means you've got better wrestle coverage, which I think you will need on day 1 especially. Also agree with the tackle/stripball, maybe on day 2..
Gobs- I think you need the blocking troll. It will pay off in spades and help deal with the frustration the team can bring sometimes. Helps against the 2 dice against and getting rid of line elves. Personally I'd modify list 1, I'd drop a reroll, upgrade the ball and chain to the star ball and chain and a bribe or extra gob. This means you get an additional skill also, which is probably DT or SS.

Re: WC3 list
Cheers mate,
I hear what you are saying re Block Trolls. Its a weigh up between the pain of failing hits with them vs the pain of having no Sweeper come last 4-5 turns (on avg).
Reason I like the Rookie B&C is he can use RRs without Loner. Other then that Fungus has +1MV and Mighty Blow (which I add in). Same reason I like 4 RRs is that all the Rookie Stars (Chainsaw and B&C) can use them with no Loner and they tend to need them, a lot
.
Food for thought. Cheers again.

Re: WC3 list
Hutchie if your thinking of goblins. I think underworld could be quite fun in this format.
1 Troll - R1 Tents (or block)
2 Blitzer R1 (1 claw 1 mb or tackle if your boring)R3 (MB on the claw blitzer)
2 Linerats R2 (blockx2)
2 rat Throwers R1 (Blockx2)
5 goblins
Skitter Stab stab
3 Rerolls 13 players
(or you can have a Glart roster) Thats clawtastic!
I think necro need 2 fleshies but i am bad at necro. If u need to keep 3 rerolls i'd go 1 ghoul
2 fleshies - R1 Blockx2
2 wolves- R1 Block and MB
2 wights -R2 Guardx2
1 ghoul- R1 Sure hands (or block up to u)
zombies
3 rerolls 11 players

Cheers Grumpsh.
That roster crossed with mine own may pit UW back on the options list. Think I was being a little too cute with some of my skills.

Re: WC3 list
Thats what I'm trying to work out
Will put me to 43 games with them total - so they'll be my most played team in tournies
. Plus them or Flings will bring up my 99th recorded Stunty match for Tournies too
.
Now UW, Gobs, and Flings can all run outta juice mid match, but ive had similar experience with Norse in the WC Warm Up on fumbbl. And Stunties are fun!
.
Dwarf, High Elf, and maybe Nurgle are the other contenders from those not selected by my Team mates and as dictated by my own convoluted selection processes for tournies.

Re: WC3 list
Well hopefully everyone submitted their lists by Sat 17th deadline?
Locked in High Elf
1x Thrower (1x Leader #1)
2x Blitzer (1x Leap #1, 1x Tackle #1)
4x Catcher (1x Block #1, 1x Block #2, 1x Wrestle #1, 1x Wrestle #2)
5x Lineelf (1x Kick #3, 1x Block #3)
2x RR
I figured that the Tackle is nigh mandatory for Tier 1 Blodgers. Leap is in line with my theory of Elvish aggression on Defense. Its the ability to get into a cage and spill the ball or just give them a hurry up that can win matches. The alternative was Guard but that relies on just delaying the drive and I feel I've learnt over many many games that AV8 breaks too often and in an 7-8 turn grind they attrition you out and also score.
Block and Wrestle to use the Catchers as Blitzers. No dodge but that just invalidates anyone taking Tackle (like me
)
Going to be a test anyway because my Elf record is avg with all except Dark Elf.
Cheers
