Couldn't be any worse than the Call of Cthulhu RPG Kickstarter that Chaosium is currently running (not affiliated with the Impact Cthulhu Team Kickstarter at all). It is to republish a classic boxed set Call of Cthulhu RPG adventure that has long since been out of print.
So far they:
1. Started the Kickstarter just before GenCon, resulting in no-one from the company logging on to answer questions or providing any updates for several days, despite the Kickstarter doubling its original goal in this time.
2. Had different amounts listed for shipping in the FAQ and in the main body of the front page.
3. Significantly increased the shipping amounts for some pledge levels after the Kickstarter had begun.
4. Had $10 shipping listed for a PDF-only pledge level.
5. Did not announce a first stretch goal until after the original amount had been more than doubled.
6. Listed this first stretch goal and 2 1/2 times the original goal.
7. Made the first goal the upgrading of maps and handouts, something that already should have been included when you are paying $90 + shipping for a boxed set.
I'm (barely) still pledging to get a print copy of the boxed set, but if this keeps up much longer I'll be dropping down to either the $15 electronic-only pledge level, or just the $1 pledge lvel. So if all Mantic have done is launch a little late they're still doing ok in my opinion!
