Capital Shield 4 - 20-21 May
Hello wonderful people from places that aren't Wellington!
This May I and others of the WBBL will be hosting the fourth Capital Shield in Wellington, a little later, a little bigger and even a little better than before...
Much of the usual applies - 10 full teams will be given away in our highlander system, plus a whole load of stars, dice and figs as spot prizes; we've got a silly theme in the form of an achievement bingo card; the venue is even bigger and better than last year's, including a fully stocked and staffed bar right there in the hall with us, and a huge private balcony out onto the wellington centre; we're playing swiss with a tiered system that rewards teams lower down the ranks with bonuses; and you'll get a chance to mingle with the fine coaches of the Wellington Blood Bowl League.
Some things are also a little different - the WBBL is flush with new faces this year; there's a new system for team tiers that replaces spps; there are four new stars allowed in the tourney for the first time in NZ; we'll be awarding sealed box prizes from lowest to highest rank this time round; and we've cut back to five rounds to give you a lie in on the Sunday and get away in good time for flights after the awards!
[And between us, we'll also have some of the first copies of a brand new 2017 A5 version of the CRP rulebook edition on hand, complete with all the bb16 rules from he newest releases...]
