Slowly but surely...

Blitzers and spare thrower blocked in. LOTS of armour on these guys, hope that the team colours are still noticeable on the finished product. Might have made a mistake on the plumes, will review once some metallics, washing and highlighting are done.

Progress, however slow, is still progress, yeah? :S

Blocked, washed, and ready for highlighting. Eyes have also been done, and I swear these ones were even smaller (or at least less accessible) than those of the linemen!

Yes, next year when they're finished! :P

Anyway, blitzers are so very nearly done. Just gotta sort out their poncy yellow plumes, then onto the numbering, basing and bulletproofing!

Looking great birdman. :)

Experience shows the blitzers armour does kill the uniform colours from the front. But the turn about style of play allows for both tracking the turns actions and also showing off the paint job from both sides. And due to the pose it is very clear from the back

They look awesome. Makes me want to throw my human team in Dettol and start again. Love the bright colours and no weathering, it's a team I could never paint in that way. ;D

Thanks, everyone. Not far to go now - bases have been painted and drybrushed, and just need to be numbered. With a smidgin of luck, they should be off the production line at the end of the week.

In other news, Duggo and Seb have had their bases further decorated with suitably gruesome props, and are finally ready for priming. Alas, I don't think the donor of the props is terribly happy about the arrangement...

Base numbering completed, the blitzers are currently in-between coats of the bulletproofing stage. Will post the final results when done, which will have to be late this week, as I now have to travel up to Sydney for work for the next couple of days! <Insert Real Life rant here>

Onto the home stretch now, as least as far as regular rostered players are concerned. These lads are up next. I left them until last because it seems to me like they just don't care...

Whereas the blitzers were a little sparse in terms of uniform colouring due to their over-armoured nature, I have the opposite problem with these fellas. I'm considering swapping the blue/orange around on the vest area, just to provide a break from the otherwise relentless swath of binary colour.

How about paint the vest - as well as the catcher's mitt - as leather? Will visually break up the team colour scheme and, thematically, represent their AV7.

Was going to suggest the same about the vest.

Hmm, so I was thinking this:

And you're suggesting this (I think):

Yeah, interesting. There is definitely such a thing as too much brightness. Might have to mull this one over a bit.
